High-Speed, Consistent, and Scalable Production
A high-capacity, automated substrate bagging machine is essential for producing uniform, high-quality mushroom substrate blocks at scale. Manufactured by a leading supplier of commercial mushroom processing equipment, this machine allows us to produce 500-600 substrate bags per hour, making it up to 10 times faster than manual bagging.
This mechanical, low-maintenance system is designed to run 24 hours a day, ensuring reliable, uninterrupted operation with minimal downtime. Unlike expensive, computer-controlled alternatives, this machine provides precision, efficiency, and durability at a fraction of the cost.

Why This Machine is Essential
High-Speed & Adjustable Output – Produces 500-600 uniform 3kg substrate blocks per hour, with adjustable speed settings.
Labour Efficient – Requires only two operators – one to attach empty bags to the dispensing chutes, another to remove filled bags.
Precise, Automated Filling – Substrate is automatically dispensed, compressed, and shaped into blocks, ensuring consistency.
Improved Colonisation & Sterility – Includes 6 punch rods for faster mycelium colonisation and reduced sterilisation times.
Built for Continuous Operation – Simple mechanical design allows for continuous 24-hour use with minimal maintenance.
The Role of the Bagging Machine in Our Facility
Feeds Directly from the Substrate Mixer – The pre-hydrated substrate is moved via a substrate elevator/conveyor belt and dispensed into the bagging machine through a pneumatic gate for precise measurement.
Ensures Uniformity & Quality – Creates consistently shaped, sterile substrate blocks, optimising both incubation and fruiting.
Allows for Scalable Production – Enables high-volume manufacturing, critical for meeting growing market demand.
A Major Upgrade Over Manual Bagging – Eliminates labour-intensive, inconsistent hand-bagging used by most small-scale producers.

Why We Need Funding for This Equipment
To meet production demand, we require two substrate bagging machines, each configured for different bag sizes. This will allow us to produce consistent, contamination-free substrate blocks at scale, ensuring a high-quality, affordable supply for growers.
